Sunday 2-3 pm / Jan. 12th (KS) - Shane Cox: He served in the U. S. Marine Corps as an infantryman. A certified  dog trainer and behavior specialist. He has trained service dogs, therapy dogs, search and rescue working dogs, and others.  Warrior Service Dogs is a non-profit Organization started by 3 combat veterans.  Warrior Service Dogs' goal is to work directly with the Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and support our Troops in any way possible. Through our programs, Warrior Service Dogs  matches veterans with specifically trained service dogs to assist them in their path to recovery and management of their disabilities as well as provide our vets with the companionship and therapeutic qualities a dog has to offer.    Tasks performed by these service dogs may include calming symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), signaling for blood sugar in diabetics, assisting amputees, or bringing a veteran back from a seizure or a flashback. “If a veteran is having a flashback, a service dog’s touch can bring that veteran back. Tasks performed by these service dogs may include calming symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), signaling for blood sugar in diabetics, assisting amputees, or bringing a veteran back from a seizure or flashback, a service dog's touch can bring the veteran back from a flashback.  North Carolina  web site: http://warriorservicedogs.org/
