A.V.O.N. Mentoring ProgramThe Advanced Volunteer Opportunity Network (A.V.O.N.) Mentoring Program is an initiative of the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence with support from the AVON Foundation for Women through the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York. The A.V.O.N. Mentoring Program pairs experienced professionals from various industries with qualified NYC Family Justice Center clients to focus on developing technical, professional, and personal skills, including networking, interviewing skills, and professional etiquette. The A.V.O.N. Mentoring Program will provide professional guidance, offer advice and feedback on employment goals, introduce mentees to professional networks, and teach mentees the tools to cultivate networking opportunities to enable professional growth. “Don’t Be a Victim of Financial Fraud” ForumOCDV recently hosted a forum on financial abuse and identity theft in domestic violence and elder relationships. Presenters from the FTC, NYC DCA Office of Financial Empowerment, The Financial Clinic, NYPD, Legal Aid Society, Housinglink, Social Security Administration, Brookdale Center on Aging, among others, spoke on a variety of topics to over 300 attendees.
